Pooja Mishra started her training in Jyotiṣa in 2017 at the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in Saylorsburg, PA under the able tutelage of Guru Penny Farrow. She has completed 1000+ hours of formal learning in Jyotiṣa. Besides continuing this lifelong learning in Jyotisa, she has written and published articles in her Guru’s Newsletter and Journal, held speaker series at spiritual gatherings, and consults clients on specific life situations. Her mission is to spread this ancient knowledge in its purest form for the welfare of society. Pooja got attracted to Jyotiṣa for a variety of reasons:

• Jyotiṣa has paved the way to learn and discover the ancient knowledge and wisdom of Hindu tradition.
• Jyotiṣa is a perfect combination of science and philosophy as it links the visible and determinable astronomical and mathematical facts with invisible and magical karmic outcomes.
• Jyotiṣa requires and nurtures strong analytical faculties. As her teacher jokes, “A Jyotiṣi (Astrologer) will never suffer from Alzheimer’s syndrome.”
• Jyotiṣa has allowed her to lead a full-filled life and connect with loved ones in a compassionate manner.
• Jyotiṣa is a great tool for counseling and healing. One of the main scriptures of Jyotiṣa “Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra” describes its purpose as Lokānugrahakāriṇā – for the welfare of the world.

Pooja grew up in India where she completed Bachelor’s in Engineering from Osmania University graduating top of her class with a Gold Medal. Following her quest for learning, she moved to the United States on a scholarship to pursue Master’s in Science from University of California at Berkeley. After working as an Engineering Consultant for about ten years, she joined University of Maryland full time to complete MBA focusing on Finance and Strategy. She then transitioned to pursue a career in corporate finance and works for a Fortune 500 firm Nestle in Solon, Ohio where she resides with her husband and two daughters.
