Her early years included a lot of moving around and exposure to different cultures, including living in Japan and Thailand as a child and teenager. She longed for stability and balance that lead me to practice martial arts, most significantly, Aikido, a Japanese martial art of blending and non-resistance. She began teaching in 1978 which she still do today. She craved to know the meaning and purpose of life and that lead me to learn meditation, the Enneagram – a psychological system of mysterious origins and to seek out the knowledge and wisdom of India, including Jyotish. The journey began in 1970 with yoga and meditation. I learned TM in 1973. I have done several vipassana meditation and other styles but always gravitate back to TM. I went to Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa for teacher training but ended up becoming an Aikido teacher. In 1990 I went on a pilgrimage to India and discovered Jyotish. I studied with some of the popular teachers of the day in California like Dennis Harness, Hart De Fouw and Ernst Wilhelm.
In 2005 her life settled down enough to delve deeper into Jyotish. Her Jyotish guru, Pundit Sanjay Rath took my studies to a new level. In 2007 she traveled to the Himalayas to study the Jaimini Sutras and Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra with him. In the Fall of 2011, along with her cohort of international students, They became the first to complete the Jaimini Sutras Upadesa, a 5 year course. From Jan. 2010 to 2013, she mentored a group of 1st and 2nd year students for the Devaguru Brihaspati Parasara Course in the parampara of Pundit Rath. Between 2012 and 2018 she was a student, mentor and level 1 and 2 teacher of a Chicago based Jyotish school, AIAC – Ancient Indian Astrology Courses- founded by Pundit Souvik Dutta.
In 2017 – 2018 she taught Nakshatra courses for Cosmic Insights with Dr. Arjun Pai.
Currently she is tutoring Jyotish students and building own Jyotish chart reading practice.
